PURPOSE:
The overall purpose of the Drug Free Communities Coalition (DFCC) to develop and implement a County Strategic Prevention Plan for Miller County, Arkansas which will provide the infrastructure needed to prevent, treat, and reduce the harms caused by underage drinking.
MISSION:
To educate, collaborate, and participate in the prevention efforts of our community. Engaging all sectors of Miller County to forma a drug-free alliance, focusing on strengthening the character and core competencies of youth and their families.
AREA OF FOCUS:
DFCC focuses on the Miller County, Arkansas demographic area. There are three towns located in the county which are targeted; Texarkana, Genoa, and Fouke. Each town has it's own school district.
SCHOOL DISTRICTS:
The coalition's target youth age group are students in grades 6-12. The student population in each district consist of Texarkana Arkansas School District (2,249), Genoa Central School District (536), and Fouke School District (524). All three school districts participate in the Arkansas Prevention Needs (APNA) Student Survey.

Faith, Love & Hope Youth Corporation operates as a local youth center & after-school program in Texarkana, Arkansas. Services provided include the Across Ages Mentoring Program, IMPACT Underage Drinking Prevention, The Anointed Angels Gospel Choir, Stompers Drumline, FLYC Dancers, Tutoring Program, Youth Summer Program, and the Annual FLHYC Hometown NFL Weekend.
Executive Committee:

State Support Staff:
The State Support Staff offers assistance, advice and direction of the overall structure, development and implementation of the SPF-SIG Grant and DFC Coalition. STRATEGIES:
Prevention Education
Providing educational curricula which aims to affect critical life and social skills including decision making and refusal skills.
Information Dissemenation
To education and increase awareness in the community regarding the risk, libailities and dangers of underage drinking.
Community Basis Process
Building healthy a community by application of an universal approach to change norms toward the behavior of underage drinking through community mobilization, interagency collaboration, and activities such as parent meetings and legislative forums.
Media Campaign
Utilizing communication broadband's and access with modern technology including television talk shows providing up to date prevention news, billboards, psa's and radio commercials to bring a broader view of underage drinking policies and dangers.
